SUMMER IS HERE.

GENERAL
The first blog post of the summer! And let me tell you (I hope) I have a lot in store for you this year! I am finally nearing completion on my classified commission, so I will FINALLY be able to work on my own cartoons again on a regular basis!

MY GOD, ROBOTS!
I'm very excited to pump MGR Season 2 out as soon as possible. At the moment episode 11 is in animation, but on hiatus until the completion of my commission (WHICH IS VERY VERY SOON.) I should probably write the rest of the seasons scripts when I have time. But that's something you all can look forward to! MGR Season 2 will be my greatest effort yet out of anything I've done, so I hope it all pans out okay.

MICHELLE & FEO
This show is...well, I'm not sure. It IS going to happen, I promise you that. I'm just not sure when I'll have time for it. Perhaps the show may be put on hold and resume when I'm done with MGR as a series all together, or perhaps I will find some magical bucket of spare time to do this project. Just know I still have interest in it and I have NOT given up on it yet.

MUSIC VIDEOS
I'm not sure which ones I will do this year, there are alot I have ideas for spinning in my head, but rest assured there will be some kick ass ones. Expect one or two from the new RBF album.

There's alot more to talk about I'm sure, but its early, so this blog is done.

Stay tuned.

BACK TO WORK

So I'm finally up and running. Here's the lowdown on what's currently in production.

MY GOD, ROBOTS! Season premiere, written, voice acted, animation in pre-production.

MICHELLE & FEO Animation to be done over due to unsatisfactory results.

CLASSIFIED NETWORK COMMISSION Currently animating, majority of my attention.

CLASSIFIED NETWORK COMMISSION 2 Did test animations for, status up in the air.

IMPRESSION THAT I GET VIDEO In animation.

UNTITLED COLLABORATION PROJECT An action packed gore-fest, to be a joint effort between Jordan Dubois and myself.

89 VISION Music video collaboration between Tommy LM and myself.

THE POCKETEERS Music video and other artwork.

So as you can see by this list, I am fucking swamped. But I'm just happy to be working again. I will be pushing myself harder than I ever have to make sure I get through all of this.

Later.

Oh Lookie-Loo, The Douche Actually Updated.

Well not really anything to report right now. At least not on my independent projects, which kind of defeats the purpose of this post, but I just figured the blog needed to be updated. Even if there's really nothing new to report. Anyways here is a screenshot from a music video that I've been working on here and there, on and off. The video is to the song Impression That I Get by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. This video will be a little more personal and less cartoony weird than my usual works. The song holds a place in my heart from the good ol' days of the 90s, so I wanted to make the video a little more "autobiographical" to project a little notion of how things were back then.

MICHELLE & FEO
Still have not worked on the episode since I last did. But I think I will be trying to do small parts every now and then when I start to get sick of animating the commission as a fresh breath, if you will. Hopefully projects like the commission will not come up as frequently, so that the show can stay on a fairly stable production schedule. But for now, nothing to report regarding production progress.

MY GOD, ROBOTS!
Nothing going on at the moment with the show right now. I have done a little bit of concept art for the second season, but I don't want to ruin anything so I'm debating on whether or not to post stills. However, during November I will try to start writing a couple scripts so that Brian and I can get cracking on how things will flow in the new method I'm trying to kickstart with this new season

Keep you updated
Out.

Still Alive

Hey folks, sorry for the lack of updates on this blog. I've just got ALOT of things things to juggle in the air at the moment. Currently I have 7 or so projects going at the same time. I've got Michelle & Feo 1, My GOD, Robots! Season 2, the Ji Spott project, Mighty Mighty Bosstones video, 2 art commissions, and the 2 network pitches for Smorgasbord Studios. And on top of all of that I have to keep my academics a top priority. So yeah, alot of stressful work in my schedule and not alot of time to keep my blogs and art pages up to date.

Michelle & Feo Stuff
Anyways stressful life aside, things are going fairly...slow with Michelle & Feo. As you can probably understand since Michelle & Feo and my other independent cartoons are done for free and on my own time, they become less important when something big comes along like the studio pitches and musician artwork projects. I'm still going to be working away at it, but I probably won't be as consistently as I would if I didn't have all this major deals going on. Here's a screenshot, as you can see it's still a work in progress shot, Grundman's arm hasn't been drawn yet. And I'm still drawing the poses for him at the moment. Feo's animation for this scene is all finished thankfully.

My GOD, Robots! Season 2
At the moment not alot is going on with My GOD, Robots! . The most recent thing I could tell you is that I finished writing the "TBD" outlines that were not in the list, so right now the entire second season has all of its plots planned out. Right now I'm just a little worried about how music is going to work out for this season. It had always been a challenge to get original music on time for this show, but now that both Matt and I are getting into bigger things I think that music might become even more difficult to attain. With Michelle & Feo I don't have the problem of getting an original score every episode because I'm using band music. But maybe I'm worrying too much and music will all pan out with few hiccups. I guess I'll just have to play it by ear until the situation arises. Anyways for the second season the "over-critical" Brian Bear will be a punch-up script writer. I've always been a little concerned about the comedy aspect of my cartoons, I am (in my opinion) a really funny guy in real life, it's just when it comes to actually writing it down I'm a little tapped for humor. Brian is a guy who understands the mechanics of a good script. If you're worried about the show becoming too joke oriented, don't. Brian and I have both agreed that to support good jokes you need strong story and character interaction. He will also be writing for Michelle & Feo too, so get ready for a bumper car full of belly laughs when we begin writing scripts together.

I'll try to keep you more updated
Out.

Everybody Loves Andrew

I haven't done a whole lot on Michelle & Feo this week, mainly because I am busy doing a few test animations for my "job" on a new Smorgasbord Studios pitch. So at last I'm finally getting paid to animate. But I only really have to do a few short tests so I can probably get some work done on Michelle & Feo this week. I hope to get at least this first episode done before I have to go back in school, but it isn't looking very likely with all these projects building up and my physical limitations, I can only sit in front of a screen for so long...Can you blame me? It's hot. And I get sweaty. Here's another screenshot, yo.

MGR Season 2:
I hope to write the script for 11, record the lines, and get Alex's lines before I am back in the classroom as well. That seems probable seeing as I can write scripts fairly quickly and MGR 11 is the standard episode length. It all depends if I can get the free time to record my lines. In the next few weeks I may or may not post outlines of episodes and rough artwork for season 2. Keep in mind that I may NOT, I want the series to be anticipated but I don't want viewers to get too much of a taste of the goodies to come because then they might not enjoy the episodes as much.

Keeping you updated since 1748, Andrew Kauervane is out.

Yeah, what a lazy piece of crap.

Well...this screenshot isn't particularly interesting. Just because I had to pick a frame that was completely colored. The good news is that this scene is finished, it just has to be colored. The bad news is...there's still alot of the episode left. And I have just not been working, I've been staying over at several of my friends places since Wednesday, so obviously I have barely been working. But it's alright. All this month I will make it my main priority to finish this episode as quickly as possible. So I guess I'll have to disable my internet or something, whatever I can to get myself to just work.

After M&F1 I don't think I will immediately start working on MGR episode 11. I want to do a video to "Evaluation Day" by The Planet Smashers and send it to them. I think I might get some sort of cash coming my way if I do stuff for them, since currently I may be doing a T-shirt design for them. So that might be cool. More news to come soon, later.

I don't post enoooough, I post too muuuch!

M&FS101 is coming along fairly nicely, I just wish I had a higher work-ethic. The amount of progress is adequate for how long I've been working on it, about 2 or 3 weeks approximately, and there's exactly 1 minute of animation done out of a 4 minute episode (I assume it will be 4 minutes. I don't do table reads so length is usually determined by script length or just wingin' it.) I expect this to be done pretty soon, at least before my summer is over. I haven't really gotten too much work done in the past 4 days, mainly because of my birthday and also I'm a huge slacker. But I hope to get this out soon and hopefully start MGR 11 before I go back to school.

As for episodes MGR 5 & MGR 6...eh...I'm kind of sitting on them at the moment. I mean, I've gotten the Feats of Strength tracks I needed (Kudos to Ed Atlin), I have just been sitting on these episodes for about a year almost but, guh. I just don't think they're very good, and I'm afraid the idiots who haven't been brought up to speed that MGR is a show that gets better progressively each episode will critique it way too harshly. Maybe I'll just disable to option to critique them when I do EVENTUALLY put these eyesores online.

Here is a screenshot just a couple seconds from the first 60 seconds of M&FS101. I love this face.

Presenting Production Progress!

Here's some screenshots from Michelle & Feo episode 1. I don't even know why I'm posting screencaps this early, there's barely any footage done at all. I mean I just started, but I suppose some people might want to see the basic look of the show compared to My GOD, Robots! Enjoy.

My GOD, Robots! Season 2 List

Well, for the few of you that thought My GOD, Robots! was over at episode 10...prepare to have your socks blown off at g-force speeds at the news...That there will in fact, be a second season of My GOD, Robots! Unfortunately it is the, last season. But I promise I will make this show go out with a bang, here's the episode list of Season 2 so far. I wont post spoilers just yet or ever, because that could ruin the anticipation:

11. "Number 11, With Jokes, and a Soda"
12. "The Toaster That Loved...Something Stupid"
13. "The Female Episode About Girl Nonsense"
14. "Behind The Scenes of My GOD, Robots!"
15. "Prepare to Be Niced Through The Face"
16. "Lost In House" Part 1 of 3
17. "The Fist of Incomprehensible Compulsiveness" Part 2 of 3
18. "Return to Normalcy Island" Part 3 of 3
19. "Pirate Encounters of The Whiny Kind"
20. "One-Time Villians, Assemble!"
21. [TBD]
22. [TBD]
23. "Try To Cope"
24. "Change"
25. "Goodbye to Robots"

Some of these episodes I am super anxious to do, and this long list should keep me busy for awhile. So I think music videos will have to wait for awhile. But hey, that's My GOD, Robots! and Michelle & Feo to whet your pallette. Enjoy the future episodes of both series.

There's a sparkler wedged in my eye.

Well...well...wool. With My GOD Robots! Season one almost officially over, I say almost because I still have to put up episodes 5 and 6, I can pursue other projects during the post-season break. My main priority is a new show I have created called "Michelle & Feo". I know some people may know the project from DeviantART, I'm just reminding the circle-jerks who visit this blog but dont comment. The show is basically going to be a writers wet-dream, non-canon scripts. With a show like Michelle & Feo in production while My GOD, Robots! is also in production, I can hone my writing skills to better myself at jokes and scripts that dont require as much continuity. I hope that this will in result make my future scripts for My GOD, Robots! better, but I doubt it will. Heh.

Currently the show has it's first episode written, finalized, and I am now animating the Title Sequence. Right now my big problem is that I have all my lines recorded, but I'm waiting on female voices...So I guess animation will have to wait a little bit until I get them. The show will probably have little to no storyboards simply because, I think the show will be less of a challenge. But I'll see when I actually begin the animation.

Here is a character card of the most up-to-date designs. Some of you may notice some few slight differences from the very first cast drawing I did, compared to this one. I've made Feo's hair a bit smaller, easier to animate. Big hair can be a problem especially with Jason from MGR. I've removed Kevin The Onion's nose, for some reason a nose on his design just seemed to distract me. Grundman's fur has been made a little bit lighter, and I tried to make him a little more cute; the fangirls who love furries will go nuts. Valerie (changed from Gloria) has been made a little more asthetically pleasing, in otherwords, more sexy. But it fits her character since she's constantly trying to make Feo hers. And last, Kristi. Uh, no adjustments have really been made, other than a few color changes he's pretty much the same.

Killing Myself, Frame at a Time.

Oi boi. MGR sure is a show thats difficult to make. But nonetheless I have been working myself to death all this week on strenuous hand drawn animation that you all know and love from me. I will say this, it looks great. Right now I'm just exhausted from all of it that still has to be done. But no worries, not that much is left, about 60 seconds left approximately. In the meantime I reccommend buying Matt Wilson's Lost Episode and watching Niko Anesti's GEOWeasel, 2 cartoons infinitely better than mine in several areas.

Other updates:
In addition to the other music videos I had planned I am going to add yet another. Among the few in the list I will actually start, Till My Head Falls Off by They Might Be Giants joins the list. Its such a high energy song that just inspires me to go all out on animation. I have a very Shmorky-esque type of direction planned for it. This is a very hum-drum entry so I apologize, but then again...No one visits this blog. So who cares? Enjoy the drawing..

Production Going According to Butt.

The post-hiatus animation status of MGR is coming along rather smoothly and I think I should be done very soon. There are exactly 4 pages of storyboard left out of...hundreds...that may sound like I dont have alot left, but the 4 pages left have really complex animation, that isnt onscreen for very long so thats the upside. In case any of you have forgotten this is a full 10 minute season finale. The show is not going to be over after this, it's just a conclusion of the first season. I hope that clears up any confusion that may have arisen in my time apart.

Other news...Music Videos. I don't know I started a video to Mr. Pants by Brendon Small awhile back but my style has changed a little so I don't know if people will be concerned with the art consistency, (This is the same issue with MGR 10) but I may finish it. Good news for all of you idiots who keep pestering me to finish the One Piece video, I'm going to be redoing it all and more, with the tablet instead of mouse so it will be even better than the old version. I plan to do videos to 1 or 2 Reel Big Fish songs, just because my friends say "I just HAFTA", 1 Less Than Jake video, 1 (more) Brendon Small song, and 1 Littlest Man Band song. That sounds like alot. And it is. Can I be sure I'll do them all? No. In fact I'll probably can like half of those, but these are just songs that I had very vivid animation ideas in my head while listening to them. Hopefully most of them will make it to animation.

The Foist Post.

Blogs have become a sensation that I will admittedly steered away from, same with Myspace, but like Myspace I caved into blogs apparently as well. So on with the entry.
This will be a blog mainly for my Flash productions and future projects. It should probably be updated fairly regulary, but don't count on consistent updates. I will have tons of goodies posted here that I wouldn't usually put up on DeviantART, such as animation previews, tests, and storyboards. I hope that you will all enjoy the Cherry Larvae Studios blog. Stay tuned for more treats.
